A bit about me
The average child laughs about 400 times per day, the average adult laughs only 15 times per day. What happened to the other 385 laughs?
Developing... Music...
My 2 choices of disciplines in my life couldn't be more different, but I love the creativity and emotion of music, as well as the pure logic of great programming. I know a few coders out there who are also musicians so it seems that the two disciplines juxtapose quite well!
Music came first and already at 15 years old I knew beyond all doubt what I wanted out of life. My instrument of choice was the guitar and for 20 years I carved out a career with bands such as LIAR, Lionheart, McAuley Schenker Group and The Sweet, as well as producing and engineering dozens of bands in my own studio.
By the time my son was born I was determined I wasn't going to be away on tour while he was growing up, so I made a career switch to audio post production at Channel 4 Television for a few years before settling into programming. But the music will always remain a major part of my life.
My main coding language was always ActionScript, but this has now extended to PHP. I love the discipline and rewards of clean coding and am a big fan of frameworks.
When rebuilding this website in September 2010 I decided to separate Development and Music into 2 different sections within the site rather than as I had previously done which was to mix it all in together. So please use the navigation bar at the top to select one area to browse to the relevant area.
Meanwhile, a new studio has just been bought and the long, long awaited solo album may finally start to materialise this year. Just maybe...
